A note from Ann

On behalf of The Alexander Handy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation, Rich, Christopher, and I wanted to extend a HUGE thank you to all who supported the 2nd Annual Project Alex 5K, including the Medway Police Department for keeping us safe as we walked/ran the course.

We had over 200 runners/walkers participate in our run. We are so thankful to all of you and to all of the volunteers who helped us put on such a successful event. We could not accomplish this without you.  We were able to raise $1,400, which will be put back into our community 100%.

We are growing and learning, but please keep letting us know what you liked and didn't like. Next year we are thinking of adding a children's relay race!

From the bottom of our hearts...thank you and we hope to see you next year!

If you'd like to see your race time, it's now available online.

June 11, 2010

The fourth annual Alex Handy Memorial Golf Tournament was a huge success.

We had over 100 golfers and raised nearly $8,000 to help continue our mission of supporting youth safety and education throughout our community.

Even in the midst of a bad economy, friends of Alex showed up and supported this event, which is our largest fundraiser of the year.

We would like to offer a special thanks to those sustaining sponsors and golfers that continue to mark their calendars each and every year to be a part of this wonderful event, and continue to help Project Alex help others.

A special thanks: To Ann Handy, the Tournament Director. Without her, there would be no tournament. We have to believe that Alex is very proud of his mom and all the hard work she puts into this and all Project Alex events and fundraisers.
